Their passion and intensity are interpreted by soprano Randye Jones and pianist Francis Conlon.

Come Down Angels is part of the research project, The Art of the Negro Spiritual (ANS). ANS is looking into the rich history of the Negro spiritual as written for solo vocal performance. We are researching the development of spirituals from the folk music of slaves to the art songs set for performance on the concert stage.
